All of you are the children of God, through faith, in Christ Jesus, since every one of you that has been baptized has been clothed in Christ. There can be neither Jew nor Greek, there can be neither slave nor free, there can be neither male nor female -- for you are all one in Christ Jesus.

WAUMC next serves at Summerfield on November 18
We are going to prepare and serve the community meal on Saturday afternoon, November 18, at Summerfield UMC, at 728 E. Juneau.
They feed 80 – 100 people a hot meal for supper every Saturday. We will be serving sloppy joes this time.
We will meet at WAUMC at 2:30 [Note earlier winter time!] to carpool down to Summerfield. We plan on being back to WAUMC about 5:45 p.m. We setup at 3:00 and serve from 3:30 to 5:00 pm. Then we will clean up and possibly eat if any food leftover.
Please let Jennie Ehrmann know at if you would like to help serve the meal in the afternoon of Saturday, November 18. Also, if you would like to donate dessert for 20-25 people, let me know. We need at least one dessert that is not chocolate. Or, if you would like to donate some fruit, such as bananas, cuties, pears, or apples, please let me know.
In addition, keep in mind that in the morning, we will be making 100 cold cut sandwiches to take with us, along with doing any other food prep needed. This will be at 9 a.m. while other people are making PB&J sandwiches for The Gathering. Helpers are needed for cold cut sandwiches. We will also be mincing veggies and other prep for the sloppy joes.
Thank you,
Jennie Ehrmann, 414-517-5453

Meditation on 9 phases of progressive enlightenment. Reflections on a Thangka painting portraying stages according to Mahamudra Practice
Hello everyone, In our gathering yesterday at MoM's Centering Prayer group, we spent some time gazing upon, meditating and praying with icons. I sensed a deepening and connection in this practice with most members there. One new member who hadn't centered before (we did have a centering prayer sit) discussed some difficulty in centering as one works with formlessness, esp. how to handled busy mind and thoughts/questions arising during prayer. We discussed the Buddhist notion of the 'monkey mind.' A part of that "monkey mind" teaching comes from a Buddhist Mahamudra Thangka (like an icon) from the East. Catherine, who was in attendance yesterday, requested the link the youtube video which describes successive paths to enlightens and inner unity..... Ronald Mendyke

A letter from Charlottesville, VA.

'I received the following from David and Diane Brownold, and I am forwarding it to you so you can read firsthand about the dangers of being Jewish, the dangers of being considerred "other" in America today.'
- Susan Ann Adrians

Read the letter here. It is chilling.
There are many good answers in here to the question, "Now what do we do?" It's a great read, with lots of fantastic suggestions.

Community Ministry Circles:

The time has come to begin the next step in our growth beyond Sunday worship.  Thus, we will be forming interest circles, eg. liturgical, outreach, centering prayer, communication, financial, and so on, with time for those groups to meet and begin their ministries by visioning and planning.  The financial committee is already functioning, which has been a big help, but another financially saavy person would make it five people, a desirable size.
